Fort Pickens

If you love history, this is the place to go. Plan to spend 2-3 hours here as you walk through the many rooms and layers that make up this old fort which protected the Pensacola Bay area in times past. Take your picture next to the large canon overlooking the Gulf of Mexico. Breathtaking views. Located 45 minutes from our house, and a good thing to do if you are heading towards the Pensacola Beach area for another activity or food. It is a national park, so it does require an entrance fee of $25 dollars per vehicle, but that is good for a week.
